Book Review: Taken Already

“Taken Already” by Yaagneshwaran Ganesh. The book is as small as long as the name of Author; just 130 pages. J Talking about the cover of the book, it looked simple at first glance, but as soon as I read it complete. I found the cover portraying exactly what the story wants to convey.

I loved the cover; But after reading the book only.  Now talking about what’s in the book. Well, initially the book offers nothing new. Protagonist works at an IT company. First few pages talk about IT companies working. For me, it wasn’t that much interesting. You will find it interesting only if you work at an IT company, for rest of the people it will be a little boring.

To add interest to the story, a girl arrives as a savior. Yup, she was the savior of the book indeed. Else I would have left it half. However, I am happy that I haven’t left the book incomplete. The second half of the book is no doubt page turner. The book offers something new. Kudos to Author’s Imagination.

Characterization: Well, The Characters are canvased nicely by the Author. Things were clear. The plot was never looking messier. He has done his job nicely. Though, I was little disappointed with the Sam’s characterization. I felt like author must have added few more paragraphs to make reader’s imagination alive. However, Sam’s character was the most interesting part of the book. He was a detective. I imagined him the way I used to see in the shows in my childhood.
The book unfolds the journey of protagonist from an IT company to meeting a detective. Ups and downs of his life makes it necessary to go to a detective. Detective Sam gripped the story well. I loved the second half. The book is unique and one of its own kind.

Advice to Author: Please do proper research before writing about something. Book had silly mistakes like: Dominos. No Dominos offers a waiter to serve you and they take payments in advance while taking your order. There is no provision of paying after. Please take care of these small things next time.

All and all, if you are fed up of reading novels having same endings where either lead characters live happily together in the end or in rest cases one dies. Then go for it… You will love it.

Ratings: 3.25 out of 5. Go for it :)

  1. On its site, the company says the inspiration for the Ion Wireless Air Mouse Glove came from hearing user complaints
about hand and wrist fatigue while using a traditional
mouse - complaints that have grown louder as users use their mouse
more than they have in the past due to so many applications that now rely on it, most specifically, video games.
When you've finished, give the mouse a good shake to make sure all the loose gunk has come out. Just as useful to advanced computer users is that Intellimouse detects when more than one mouse is attached to a computer and allows both mouse devices to be configured separately.
